Hydrogen Infrastructure in Eastern Germany receives grant

ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH (ONTRAS) received the IPCEI funding decision for the two infrastructure projects doing hydrogen and Green Octopus Mitteldeutschland on 15.07.2024. The funding notification was handed over to ONTRAS Managing Directors Ralph Bahke and Gunar Schmidt by Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck in Berlin.
Both projects are part of the ONTRAS H2-Startnetz, the planned pipeline network for the transportation of hydrogen in central and eastern Germany. Other companies also received a funding decision as part of the so-called “infrastructure wave” (Hy2Infra) of the IPCEI Hydrogen.
The respective federal states contribute 30 percent of the IPCEI funding, with the federal government providing 70 percent.
